I was given the gift to serve as Mayor of the City of Amsterdam because of my promise to be creatively proactive and responsive to the needs of this small, struggling city. I laid out an ambitious agenda targeting financial stability, organization and innovative economic development efforts. I promised to keep the priorities established in our Comprehensive Plan squarely in my sites.
By so many measures, we are able to mark years of steady progress toward our goals. I am very proud of the many successes we have had in protecting and advancing the interests of the taxpayers of our city.

SHUTTLEWORTH PARK IMPROVEMENTS
new turf, deck, stadium seating, walking path, dam, ice skating & fishing pond, warming hut.
CHURCH STREET RECONSTRUCTION
completed, saving over $100,000.
GUY PARK AVENUE RECONSTRUCTION
infrastructure improvements completed.
BRIDGE STREET RECONSTRUCTION
completed.
CHALMERS DEMOLITION
completed.
RIVERLINK PARK PHASE II
completed.
GRIEME AVENUE BRIDGE WATER LINES
replaced and asbestos removed.
ANNUAL ROAD PROGRAM
streets & infrastructure in each ward are rejuvinated.
FIRE DAMAGED EDY BRUSH FACTORY
has been remediated and removed.
HYDRANTS, WATER MAINS, LATERALS AND VALVES
are being replaced this summer on Market Street Hill and on the South Side at Collins and DeWitt Streets.
WATER FILTRATION AND WASTE WATER TREATMENT PLANTS
upgrades to both facilities are complete!
COMMUNITY FORUMS
held over each season to solicit input from residents in each neighborhood as to how they would like to see their communities evolve in regard to parks, off-street parking, playgrounds, commercial and residential building. This information will be used to apply for funding to make these goals a reality.
